Cinnamon Rolls from Mom

Ingredients

  • Frozen bread dough (defrosted overnight in fridge)
  • CINNAMON MIXTURE:
  • ½ c almost melted butter
  • 1 c brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp cinnamon
  • Nuts (optional)
  • FROSTING:
  • 6 oz cream cheese (room temp)
  • ⅔ c butter (room temp)
  • 2 c powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla

Instructions

  1. Roll out dough and let rise about 1 hr
  2. Punch down dough, roll again
  3. Mix then spread cinnamon mixture on top, add nuts if desired
  4. Cut into pieces (about 12 total)
  5. Let rise in 9x13 glass pan covered in saran wrap & PAM everything (pan + wrap)
  6. Let rise with a heating pad on top about 1-2 hours til doubled in size
  7. Next warm 1 c - (not hot) heavy cream
  8. Pour over rolls and let sit at least 10 min
  9. Bake at 375° for 20-20 minutes
  10. FROSTING:
  11. Whip together all frosting ingredients
  12. Pour frosting over "fairly" hot rolls
