Apple Pie from grandma

Ingredients

  • Pie crust
  • 8 + cups sliced apples (cortland, granny smith, haroldson, macintosh)
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. Cinnamon
  • dash of salt
  • 3 tbs. Butter cut up



Instructions

  1. Stir together sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt.
  2. Add apples.
  3. Put mixture in bottom crust (use glass pie pan!)
  4. Top with 3 tbs. Butter cut up.
  5. Cover with top crust, seal edges. Cut slits.
  6. Cover edge of pie with foil, pull off towards end.

  7. Bake at 425 for 30 minutes. Remove foil, bake for another 10-20 until bubbly.
